Crazy Food designs for fabric and wallpaper

Header Delicious Fruits Kollektion

As you may have noticed, I tend to create somewhat unusual—or even crazy—designs.
To me, they’re normal. That’s why I think drawing with black ink on paper and then coloring digitally is my signature style. Having a signature style can definitely have its advantages, even if it is slightly quirky.
A good example of my hand-drawn signature style is one of my older collections, “Delicious Fruits,” which was created in 2017 as part of a pattern design class.

And they really are delicious little fruits, aren’t they ?

The collection was inspired by the many fruit trees planted by the previous owner of our garden. Unfortunately, we had to remove some of them, because the garden was way to small for so many trees, but at least they found a good place where they could continue to grow. We only kept the plum and pear trees and have had a veritable flood of fruit some years. This year, however, the trees seem to be taking a break. Apart from a few wormy plums and nibbled pears, there was nothing to be had. But the trees deserve a break too.
Instead, I was delighted that Lillestoff added my “Delicous Fruits” designs to their fabric range. And some really beautiful shirts have already been made from them. I always enjoy seeing what the sewing community makes from my designs.

Here are the Delicious Fruits:

If you sew something from my designs and post it on instagram, just tag me @andreamuehlbauer. I’d love to see it and share it in my story!
