Fabric collection Dachshund Summer

Have you spotted my “Dachshund Summer” fabric collection for Mary n Max Lillestoff yet?

If not, be sure to check it out if you’re a dachshund fan—and even if you’re just a dog lover in general, or maybe a cat lover; the little dachshund surely won’t be offended. There are also floral patterns perfect for summer, for those who can resist the dachshund—which I somehow can’t imagine at all ;-).

And of course, there’s also a cut-and-sew panel for dachshund pillows—perfect for playtime for younger dachshund fans or as a decorative pillow for the couch. It also works great as a neck pillow for relaxing while reading or a cuddle pillow for sleeping—an absolute all-around pillow that’s super easy to make.
Just cut it out, sew it together, and stuff it.

I got my inspiration for this retro-style collection from my childhood in the ’70s (goodness, I’m getting old), which I actually spent often on vacation with my great-aunt and my uncle’s cute dachshund. He’s a little hard to spot in the faded photo, but he’s down at my feet in the middle of the photo.
That sweet guy was a real sweetheart of a dog; full of joy whenever visitors came and an absolutely fantastic companion on hikes through the woods and meadows. He had a very smooth reddish-brown coat that shone beautifully, and when he wagged his tail, it wasn’t just his tail that wagged—it was the whole dog. And what I always loved that he wouldn’t settle down until everyone had given him a good belly rub.
So the family greeting always went the same way: Dachshund, dachshund, dachshund, dachshund, and then eventually Uncle and Aunt.
