Isn’t it a shame when a carefully chosen bouquet of flowers wilts and eventually must be thrown away?
A bouquet pillow would be the perfect solution. It lasts a long time and can be washed.
My cut-and-sew pillow panels feature various bouquet designs on the front, most of which match my hand-drawn fabric patterns. This is useful if you need fabric for more matching pillows or a matching dress for presenting the bouquet
.
You could also attach a voucher folded to fit the shape of the bow with a few hand stitches.
The back of the panels features messages for various occasions, so you can give it as a gift to a loved one.

The bouquet pillow panels at Lillestoff (link leads to the Valentine’s Day bouquet panel as shown) are available in various fabrics, such as cotton woven fabric with a fine, smooth look, canvas for more rustic bouquets, jersey, and summer sweat. However I would keep in mind that the larger the pillow, the greater the risk of jersey or summersweat bulging when stuffed or even during use.
Materials:
- 1 Flower Bouquet Cut and Sew Panel (e.g. the Valentines Panel)
- Sewing thread
- Filling fiber
Sewing the Pillow
- Cut out the two cushion pieces at the white sewing allowance, place the pieces right sides together so that the shape fits perfectly and sew along the black dotted lines or if no sewing line is given, just use the seam allowance as a guide.
- To reverse the cushion, leave a straight section open on the bottom of the cushion.
- Cut in the seam allowances a little bit, then the seam will lay nicely in the corners and curves – but don’t cut too close to the seam, otherwise the fabric could tear out over time!
- Fill the cushion with filling fibre or filling cotton and close the opening with hidden hand stitches or topstitches along the edge.
The left over fabric can be used to sew little gift bags or in combination with other fabric for jeans upcycling bags or sustainable shopping bags.
